Action1 Organizations and Enterprises

Action1 Organization

Managed Service Providers (MSPs) or larger companies may be interested in separating managed endpoints and their data between clients or departments. For that purpose, a number of Action1 organizations can be created within your Action1 account.

Action1 organization represents a set of remote endpoints as an entity that can be managed separately. For example:

  • The whole IT infrastructure
  • A department within a large company
  • An MSP client, and so on

NOTE: If you don’t need to separate the endpoints from each department or business unit and want to manage them together, consider using endpoint groups instead of organizations.

Initially, you have one organization associated with your Action1 account, with the default name My Organization. All managed endpoints are assigned to it.

To view your Action1 organizations, navigate to Configuration | Organizations. This page lists all available Action1 organizations as well as the Enterprise.

NOTE: To manage Action1 organizations and/or enterprise, you need a user role with sufficient permissions (Manage Organizations, Manage Enterprise). See Users and Roles and Permissions in Detail for details.

Action1 Enterprise

My Enterprise is a root entity of your Action1 account. It contains all your Action1 organizations, Action1 users, and their roles. Some Action1 settings can be configured on the enterprise level.

Each organization is isolated from all other organizations in the same Action1 enterprise.

Default user roles are automatically created for each Action1 enterprise, including _Enterprise Admin, _Enterprise Manager, and Enterprise Viewer. You can create other roles and assign required permissions, as described in Users and Roles.
