Removing Action1

Removing Action1 agents

If Agent Deployment (former Endpoint Discovery) is configured:

NOTE: The instructions below help remove all endpoints and Action1 agents. To drop just a few of them, add them to the “Exclude computers” list in the Agent Deployment settings.

  1. Go to the Agent Deployment page and set the configuration to “Computers in the list” with a blank list.
  2. Wait until the Action1 Deployer automatically uninstalls all the agents. This can take anywhere from a few seconds to a few hours, depending on the number of managed endpoints you have. You can monitor the process on the Endpoints page.
  3. Uninstall the Deployer itself by running the following in the command line in the Deployer installation folder: “action1_connector.exe uninstall”. Typically, the Deployer is installed into %ProgramFiles%\Action1\Connector or %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Action1\Connector depending on the type of system.

If managed endpoints were added manually:

Navigate to the Endpoints page, specify an endpoint and select Remove Endpoint.

Alternatively, run the command msiexec /uninstall “C:\Windows\Action1\action1_agent.msi” /quiet on each managed endpoint.

NOTE: If Action1 Deployer is enabled, Action1 will soon try to reinstall an agent to this endpoint. Make sure to add it to the “Exclude computers” list on the Agent Deployment page.
