Remote Command Prompt for Windows

Save valuable time by automating your administration routines. Remotely execute commands on multiple endpoints and perform maintenance actions without leaving your chair. With Action1 endpoint management solution, it’s much easier to orchestrate updates or start programs on remote machines. As a bonus, you can use Action1 remote command prompt capabilities to retrieve your endpoints’ configuration data such as current network settings or processor usage.

Protect IT Assets and Stay Accountable

Action1 takes care of the workstations that are not connected to a LAN (e.g., laptop of a traveling employee) or that are even turned off at the moment. Action1 will retry command execution later and inform you about results. You can be sure that your networked computers are compliant with your organization’s policies and serviced on time.

Protect IT Assets and Stay Accountable

Delegate Tasks to Non-Administrators

Action1 provides a powerful toolkit but is easy to work with. Administrators can delegate functions to less technical users. For example, helpdesk personnel can run programs remotely on Windows systems from a list of pre-approved commands. Create a centralized library of remote commands for your team and focus on more complex administration tasks.

Remotely starts an application or runs remote command on multiple Windows endpoints. This free tool is a cloud-based alternative to psexec commands and similar remote tools to run exe, cmd and bat files on remote computers. It is a manageable alternative to execute commands on remote Windows machines, without the need to install psexec and learning how to use it and all those numerous switches and usage examples.

You can use this action instead of running exes on remote computers using PowerShell, basically as a remote command prompt for Windows to run programs on another computer on your network. The ability to run command prompt on remote computer and remotely access another computer using cmd.exe comes very handy as a generic way to perform all kinds of maintenance actions, such as running programs installed on another computer, starting backup operations, running bat files remotely and more. Action1 will take care of the endpoints that are currently turned off and execute all the actions later. On top of that, Action1 software management and distribution tool provides a detailed overview of administration activities. In History, Administrators can see the list of executed commands, with dates, results, and statuses, while auditors will appreciate the accountability of these operations.

The additional benefit is delegation to non-administrators of the ability to run programs remotely on Windows systems from a list of remote commands pre-approved by system administrators (think of it as an inventory of psexec remote cmds available for helpdesk operators, for example).

“

We love Action1! Just makes our life easier. Everything we need is right here, at our fingertips. We use reports to build software inventory and then remotely execute commands on the endpoints that for some reason need to be updated.

- Tamara Davidson, IT manager

“

I`ve reviewed numerous remote administration tools but Action1 is so far the best. It`s powerful yet simple to use and deploy. Of course, running remote commands is kind of advanced but you can create and keep a whole bunch of commands in a library and invoke them whenever needed.

- Bill Ryan, IT Pro and blogger

“

I`m an internal helpdesk officer. In the organization I work for, I help people solve problems with our corporate portal and system. To say the truth, I could never master remote switches and remote commands and that made me pretty insecure. Action1 works great for me. With a little help from a system administrator, I managed to create all the necessary commands and scripts and now I`m super confident.

- Margaretha Zimmer, Helpdesk officer
